In the fall of 2020 amidst ongoing uncertainty around the globe, I began teaching a course at Northeastern University aligned to the book Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks by Wendy Belcher. What began as a course to provide scholars with insights into publishing their work quickly became a supportive community and sacred space despite everything happening in the world around us grounded in a shared love of writing.

The course has run many times since the first term and in each section folks struggle to find the “just right” journal for their pieces. In the hopes of modeling an inclusive and abundant (over scarcity) perspective of knowledge and resources, I’m sharing a regularly updated list of journals considered by those in my writing course in one place.

As the list of journals grows and changes, so too will this list grow and change. Please know that this list is from and for my students (past, current, future) and also for anyone out there seeking a home for their writing.
